Experienced climbers looking to test themselves on frozen terrain will find several fascinating ice-climbing areas around Madonna di Campiglio.
The most notable routes follow the frozen Nambrone, Vallesinella and Nardis waterfalls. In summer, water rushes noisily over the rock; in winter, the same cliffs become silent walls of ice. Climbers ascend these long frozen lines with the right equipment, sound judgement and proven experience.
